- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.
I like the drums, you got a cool groove going with this song, very professional sounding. I'm not familiar with garage band, are all these sound effects already in there or are you playing them?
Vocals are a bit distant which i think is intentional, but you should have a main vocal track that is a bit more upfront with less of an effect on it.
The instrumental stuff on this is really cool.

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

Everything on this track was played on my Gibson, except the drum (which I did in Fruity Loops). Even the bass line, which I just downed an octave and then messed around with through the equalizer.
I've found most guitars you'll hear produced are just doubled over and panned out, right and left, so I start with that and kind of fill in the middle. It's nice working in stereo. You can't just copy over the guitar parts, though, or it "spreads" to much, so to speak. So it's good to record it twice (in this case, improvisations around a B7, F#m7, Emaj7, and E6). This one has maybe six guitar parts on it.
