DMB backing tracks

Unread post by SaxMan123 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 5:59 pm

Does anyone know if there are any DMB backing tracks floating around the internet? I am mainly looking for backing tracks of Carter's drum parts in Ants Marching and Dancing Nancies, as well as anything else I can get my hands on would be great. I want to do a cover recording of Ants and Nancies but I have no drum kit, nor any way to write out drum lines, not to mention I dont know anything about drumming myself.

you'd be pretty surprised how many drummers can play dmb songs. the only thing that puts carter over the top is that he comes up with the stuff.

Does he still regularly use these boards at all? I should ask him if he could do the stuff from Nancies, cause that would be awesome as I almost have the strumming down perfectly, suprisingly its one of the easiest guitar songs out of the DMB repitoire that I know even though I dont know many tunes right now, I am still waiting for someone to Powertab or Guitar Pro the songs Warehouse and a good of Pay for What You Get

a powertab of pay for what you get? it doesn't get more simple than that one really... the rhythm never changes, and it's power chords the entire time. just give it a shot right now, i'm sure that if you can play nancies AT ALL and you can learn PFWYG

True, I learned some of it by ear and found a tab that was pretty right but there is one phrase that I always get wrong when playing with the record.

There used to be a website called backingtracks.com but it got shut down by the Music Publishers Association of America quite a while back. I wouldnt mind having backing tracks though for Boyd's parts, its less of a hassle and work for me since I can play saxophone and will just transpose all of LeRoi's parts for my alto.

Yea, I could probably do the alto stuff in Jimi Thing if I had the music in front of me, cause I can play just as well as LeRoi to some extent. I wish I could probably do some of the soprano stuff on my clarinet, but it would sound like shite cause clarinets in general sound like shite.
