Dovetail Neck Joint

Unread post by Lbacker » Fri Apr 07, 2006 11:00 am

Could someone please post a picture of a Dovetail neck joint. I am considering purchasing a 000C-RGTE Aura within the next month or so and understand that it dosen't have a dovetail joint as many of the high end martins have. What is the advantage/disadvantage of a dovetail?? What is a mortise neck joint? They really don't explain it on the martin website.

Dovetail joints look like that. They sort of splay out so they are very resistant to coming apart and stuff. Not sure how this applies to quality of the guitar though.

I think the main difference will be the feal of the guitar when you play. You might want to play one if you can and see if there is a difference you can feal.
