Why did they call it "The Dave Matthews Band" ?

hehe me too :)

the name makes sense... daves the lead singer, the frontman, and as mentioned writes practically all the songs, with exceptions of course.

the rest of the band really respects him and probably thought it was appropriate i remember hearing tid bits in interview things and stuff like that.

If I remember correctly (and I probably don't) they got the name when they played their first couple of gigs at the Flood Zone. They didn't have a name yet so They just put The Dave Matthews band on the sign and flyers. The band got lazy and just never came up with anything to change it

It was a name that the band tossed around. Pretty sure Step Into The Light addresses it.

I read a biography on the band it said that when they first started out, they couldn't think of a good name so when the Bars they were playing at made flyers, they just called it the Dave Matthews Band and it stuck. The band never even considered that name.
