definitly around in '99. see the 1999 calander. Listener supporte was 9/11/99 though right?gcom007 wrote:actually since '00...the last time he used it for a full show was 7.5.00 and he used it for a few songs for a few shows after that, but it was definitely still around in '99 or '00...I heard that there's still one that travels too but that was never confirmed by more than one random person...bbatsell wrote:Hasn't touched it since '98theDuKe[JW] wrote:Doesn't he play a Chet Atkins? The Black and White one, or is that the Modulus?
Which guitar does Dave use for each song?

yeah, you can see it on a stand in listener supported...he played it the whole show 7.5.00 as I watched him do it...I'm also pretty sure that was the last full show he played it at as every show after that I saw Taylors in atleast some of the pictures...

it's a natural finish one behind him in LS, not a black one, too.gcom007 wrote:yeah, you can see it on a stand in listener supported...he played it the whole show 7.5.00 as I watched him do it...I'm also pretty sure that was the last full show he played it at as every show after that I saw Taylors in atleast some of the pictures...

Those are the guitars in standard use. The Taylor 914c is used in full-band scenarios for all standard-tuned and drop-d songs (he has 3 of them, so monk tunes one to drop-d if they're playing a drop-d song). The Taylor 714 is tuned to Raised B and is used on songs such as You Never Know or Stay or Leave. The Taylor W65 is played on 12-string songs such as Grey Street and JTR. The Jerry Jones Baritone is played on songs that are in Baritone tuning (many Everyday songs - Space Between, So Right, What You Are, etc.). The Modulus electric is played on standard-tuned songs requiring electric, like I Did It. And the DM3MD is played during more intimate settings, usually on Dave & Tim tours, and it is his main studio guitar recorded on albums after 1999 (although he did play it during the 2003 Dave + Friends tour).
I can't find anything on the web about modulus guitars other than basses. Do they only make bass guitars now?

I saw him at MSG night 2 during the winter tour when he played bayou and then smooth rider with robert randolph...pretty sure he was using the baritone bayou and i didn't see a guitar switch in between songs so i'm going to assume he played smooth rider with the baritone.
