In Dave we Trust

Unread post by RaSh » Sun Mar 26, 2006 1:56 pm

i just wanted to say that some ppl here say u dont have to play the songs exactly the same as Dave and that is absolutely correct BUT trust me u guys i use to play alot of songs my way its the same frets or the same notes and all but diffrent fingering coz i wasnt used to his style and i had the hardest time keeping up with his strange timing in some songs and i never seem to be able to sing along while playn like in the stone for example till i decided to try things his way and it was hard at the beginin coz it was something totally new to me then after a while i found it much more easier than i thought and some songs train u for other songs and it also effects ur composing and playn its amazing believe me just trust him and play as he does AGAIN there's nothin wrong with playn a song of his in a diffrent way all im sayn is that his way at the end was better for me .

You only used one period. So you just wrote one big sentence and reading it gives the image of some cracked-up 4 year old trying to explain to her mom where Hoff was touching her and how it made her tingle on the inside....and in a good way.

Just trying reading what you wrote in one breath, I defy you to do it.

And yeah it's not an English class, but if you look at a post like that it makes people less inclined to read it, especially if it has any length to it. Look at a poster like greedylilpig, he writes long posts but uses periods, paragraph breaks and bold where necessary. Plus, he is an excellent writer. It just makes people more inclined to read what you write and take something out of it.

That being said, I have no idea what you are trying to say in your first post.

DMBtabs, Welcome to it.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Off-topic: Ok, I'll give it to you that it can get annoying when people nit-pick. But I will say that you were being a jerk on that last bit with it.

On-topic: The interesting thing with Dave, is that he tends to do things the easiest way he possibly can. Go figure. Most musicians, at least most intelligent ones I've seen, play the music the easiest way they can, while still obtaining the complete sound the want. Dave does this quite well, despite how complicated many of his songs are. It's good to mimmic the overall style of the artist's song you're trying to play, but don't let it completely over-shadow your own style to where you are nothing more than a mimmic.

Off-topic: Cut cut not to offend cut cut cut cut .
On-topic: true, all i meant was that it influence your playing, and even your singing.
