Tablature on this Website
I know this may sound a little mean and uncalled for, but the guy doing some of these "videos" of the tabs of dave songs... guy c'mon you honestly cannot tell me that some of those songs are correct. I mean, listen to some of that shit. I dont feel like listing all the ones that are wrong but here's a little tip for you: Buy a Tablature Book
"Dave Matthews Band - Before these crowded streets: Guitar and vocal"
"Dave and Tim - Live at luther college"
- both excellent tab books that are 100% accurate
anyways. I posted this because i saw some people expressing difficulty playing dave songs in "the hardest song to play discussion".
the problem isnt you, its the tab.
play on - sorry video guy, somebody had to call you out. no hard feelings

Wow slick. You have some audacity.
First of all, your ear must be absurdly bad. I have the LLC book, it isn't any better than the tabs here.
Second, about which videos are you talking? The ones on the main site or the user contributed ones in the forums?
Third, I'd like for you to substantiate your claims with some comparisons of the tabs, perhaps played and recorded by you. Since you have been playing for 13 years after all, one could assume that your skill level would be plenty high to cleanly play different versions.
Fourth, and last, if you're so God damned smart, why can't you post this in the correct forum?

i second all of that... cause ive picked up the books before, never bought, because they arent better than this, and theyre usually so goddamn confusing with how theyre layed out.slimerdmb24 wrote:Wow slick. You have some audacity.

"First of all...", the "official" dave tabs books are just that - "official" - you may want to practice a little and maybe with some improvement they will sound Perfect when playing along with the cd... because they do. my ears are fine sir - hence the detection of faults in the tabs when listening to the videos
"Second", the ones on the main website
"Third", i'm not prepared to deal with copyright infringement due to electronic duplication of the tablatures, but i'll gladly play/record the correct tabs for you if you would be so kind as to mail me a recording device (7113 Wyngrove Dr. Montgomery, AL 36117).
"Fourth", ouch... i'm gonna go cry now - you must be the kid in the videos

are you fucking serious?
Jared is not a kid first off...
Kanter tabbed these out by watching Dave play in videos and listening to live recordings. These are his own tabs. the tabs are also just a basic idea of playing them, he gives you the notes and tabs, and since you have 13 years under your belt you should be able to pick up on the rhythm yourself.
Secondly, i guarantee most of the videos on here are 3 or more years old.
And please give us one of the videos so we can critique it together...
dmbtabs, welcome to it...

You said the books are 100% accurate. Sort of...Look at The Stone for example. The dumb book tells you to play it with open strings and some how you're supposed to get the same muting sound as Dave? Come on, I have seen videos negating numerous fingerings at fret positions those books offer.

that doesn't make any sense, you can play the D with the open fourth string and still have it sound the same. i do it all the timeColdchillin23222 wrote:You said the books are 100% accurate.
