This is the song off the new Jack Johnson Curious George CD. I liked it so I took a crack at it, plus I found drums on my drum machine that sounded really close to the originals
Edit:New Link (with bass)

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?

great cover
try to throw in a little Esus4 then go back to E on the verse throughout the song...sometimes playin' it and sometimes just the E... just to give it a little flavor
but this was one of the best jack covers i've heard...i was laughing with the backround... i thought you were gonna throw in that elephant sound from those old casio keyboards lol
do have any other jack covers?

HAHAHAHH thats a great idea! I wish I had an old casio. That about does it for me with jack johnson, I have a hard time singing that mellow, i think im a little better when i belt it more.
For the Esus4 are you talking about hitting the G string with the pinky?
thanks for the reply!

i used to play on my sister's keyboard and press the hell outta those buttons
then one day i saw a sketch on snl where they play some christmas song with those sounds...i laughed my ass off when i saw that
"i don't care what poppa says...christmas time is neeear"
about the esus4...you got it,just throw the pinky on the G string
i don't know if jack uses that note for the song...but when you're playing solo it makes it sound like two guitars and sounds nice

very nice sounding cover indeed.
the only criticism I have is that the timing of the guitar and the rhythm in the background is not always spot-on.
keep on mate

hey ryan, that was really cool dude! a little bit of timing issues, but the guitar was dead-on for the most part. I liked how you harmonized to your own voice in the chorus too. What's your recording setup like?

Thanks guys,
My recording setup is pretty simple. My good guitar has been in the shop for 6 weeks so im using my beater ibanez and recording it with a shure sm-58 mic which is run into a $40 behringer mixer and then straight to the line in on my computer > Cool Edit Pro. Same for the bass and my keyboard.
For the rhythm I have a Boss Dr. Rhythm Dr770. I usually like to do a lot with effects pedals, but the guitar I have right now doesnt have electronics so I can't use any of my pedals. Oh well, soon enough.
Again, Thanks for the responses, I'm going to work on the timing (That Samba beat is a bitch) and rerecord vocals.
