soloing strategies
soloing strategies
I'm getting tired of just playing solos based on the pentatonic scales. I've been recently getting into the mixolydian stuff a little but i need some help. Are there any other scales that i can improvise on and solo to and if so, do you know any songs that use them that i could learn? Thanks.

You'll probably get more replies if you post in the "General Guitar Discussion" forum.ontherise wrote:I'm getting tired of just playing solos based on the pentatonic scales. But my 2 cents is to learn the major scale, all it's modes, and all 5 forms of the pent scales.
After that, I guess you could learn half-whole and whole-half diminished and whole-tone, but you'll use those very little.
The modes and pents should be sufficient.
