S-1 Pickup Switching
S-1 Pickup Switching
This summer I am building a custom strat using parts from stewmac.com and warmoth.com. I also have a 1970s neck from a strat I owned previously. One thing I really want in it is the s-1 pickupo switching. I was wondering if anyone knew if I could purchase that through Fender or maybe another site. I've been looking and no finding any results on where to purchase it. I understand I might not be able to purchase it and was wondering if anyone knew any information about it.
Thanks
Thanks

incorporating an s-1 system, even if you can get your hands on one, into a custom strat will be exceedingly difficult, you can do the same thing with a series of added switches, 1 for each pickup, and run the direct output feed through the switch, then you can turn pickups on and off as you like.bam3211 wrote:This summer I am building a custom strat using parts from stewmac.com and warmoth.com. I actually have. Me and my friend who has taken courses and is an excellent luthier, build guitars a lot. We have built basses and guitars usually from scratch. My friend usually takes care of most of the wiring and i do a lot of the cut5ting and sanding whcih takes much longer. On the start I am buying the body and neck form warmoth.com. I will apply the finish and install everything else, it will be much easier then building from scratchfilmdude100cms wrote:have you ever built a guitar and done its wiring, or have any wiring experiance?bam3211 wrote:Yeah i figured eBay would be my best et as well. ok well heres an option, not exactly an s-1 but get a warmoth push pot, that pushes for on and stuff... possibly rewire it for s-1 switching.
http://www.warmoth.com/hardware/parts/p ... e_switches
pp500 or pp250 on the bottom
EDIT: havent done my research dont know if itll work, so shoot warmoth an email asking if they know itll work.
