Decent Electric Under $400??

Unread post by K.Smith » Mon Mar 06, 2006 7:25 pm

Hey I've been playing for a while and I’ve never really gotten into the whole electric thing but… I think I want to get one now I don’t really want to spend more than like $400 (less if possible). I most likely wouldn’t gig with it but I want one that won’t suck to bad if I decide to. Grace Me With Your Wisdom-Thanks!

Mexican Strat or Mexican Tele. I have the strat, with Seymour Duncan Blues singles in it and it sounds deeelectable.

First off, MY GOD B-Fost, is that you in those video clips?!?!

Yep, Standard stratocaster. Musicians friend: $399...definately your best bet. I prefer the Fat Strat which is the same amount.

I also wouldn't disagree with getting some better pickups for it. Somthing that will give you a little smoother response if you don't like the twang that Strats put out.

you can replace any one at a time, they are connected only by a wire that is resoldered when a new pickup is installed

you could do one or the other...but then you'd have one good sounding one and one crappy sounding one.

definately go for a yamaha pacifica 112. this electric will match most of the top level guitars out there. its a seriously great instrument for a great price.
Evey Hammond: Who--who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what... and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

Yamaha Pacifica 112> Crybaby Wah> Route 66 American Overdrive/Comp> Phase 90 (mod)> Blues Driver> Boss Volume Pedal> Boss DD-6 Delay> Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

Maton Performer Series> Fender Acoustasonic Deluxe

i play a little bit of everything mostly rock maby a little blues, i would be intrested in something that can handle most types of music and still sound decent clean or with some distortion.
