Stretch on #41

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

they're hard, try tilting the neck at an extreme angle, it helps

it kinda just takes time to be able to make those stretches. before you start stretch out your fingers and the whole process will take a lot less time. i now have a five fret stretch from the first fret. so i could play chords like

Code: Select all

--5-----
--6--6--
--x--5--
--3--3--
--x--x--
--1--1--
or dirtier chords like

Code: Select all

-----------
--6--6--6--
--4--x--x--
--3--3--4--
--x--4--3--
--1--1--1--
which all sound bad but can be used in the right places and as arpegios.

So just like stretching before you play a sport, stretch before you play guitar.

well, advice then, don't try crazy/captain any time soon. That one hurts until you get used to those stretches.

There is no stretch on #41. you must have some small ass hands cuz that song is just simple chords

try playing it the way dave does, they are simple chords, but these particular inversions make them sound interesting

I manage the first two much better, because you "only" strech on 4 frets...

The stretches suck balls. But I'm blessed with fairly large hands... So it's hard, but manageable.

And wow... right when I clicked on this #41 came on...

Crazy.

I find the stretch to be a lot easier then it originally was when i first wanted to learn #41... i find the 3rd chord to be the hardest of the 4..
