Bridge on Stay

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Bridge on Stay

Unread post by Taylor2885 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 5:02 pm

Maybe a stupid post ... but I was fucking around last night when I was drunk with the Stay bridge cause I wasn't happy with the way it sounds when I play it solo, mainly the D---6-7-8--- part at the end. I know that's how Dave plays it but it doesn't sound full enough for me. So I came up with something:

Instead of D---6-7-8---

I added

e -------------------
B --4---5---6-------
G --x---x---x-------
D ---5---6---7-------
A ---6---7---8-------
E -------------------- (Excuse my tabbing skills)

I know it's just a standard C chord shape and based off of the bass notes, but I was very proud of myself (Ha i'm very easily amused). Anyway I thought it was a fuller sound for those who like to play it in front of people solo. Try it a couple times, it sounds kind of cool.

My bad on the D---6--7--8--- I realize it's on the A string
