So I saw Tim Reynolds in concert last night...

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

So I saw Tim Reynolds in concert last night...

Obviously it was amazing since I mean...it's Timmy. But seeing him in concert , I saw him in State College, PA at the crowbar, is amazing to see. He revealed a whole different side to me that I had never expected. Just from watching the videos (storytellers) he seemed like a very passive, quiet guy who was a fuckin freak. It was real interesting to hear him talking AND singing.

He played stream and an assortment of covers like come together, and here comes the sun and included a reworked, slower bluesy version of whole lotta love which was AWESOME. It was amazing watching him work and esp. do stream which he included a little singing tag part at the end. His singing was actually good too, it fitted with what he played. A deep slow raspy kinda voice.

You can DEFINATELY tell that him and dave get the same kind of humor and "craziness" together. I am pretty sure that he HAD to have popped acid right before he got on stage, so by the end he was just rediculous. Started singing some "I want your soul, come to me i'm you're daddy" in a really deep freaky voice (try thing of gremlins). Then played "All you need is love" to finish the show haha.

If you've seen him let me know how it was and what YOU guys thought of him. If anyone else hears of timmy comin around to somewhere near them I would strongly suggest going to check him out cause its definately worth it.

Yea I saw him here at JMU. he was amazing, and very funny. I got to meet his parents too lol. he blocked off the front two rows for his faamily members. so i sat right behind them. It was sad because he did his acoustic set and everybody was seated and then he busted out the electric and said 'you guys don't have to sit down all the time' so everybody rushed the stage.lol. but yea good shows always!

yeah i saw him last weekend in Dayton. The show was badass, and stream was just amazing. He came out at the end talked, took pics and signed some autographs for everyone. I was kinda freaked by how deep his voice was for being such a small person.

it was a really small place where we were so it was just standing room only and then like a bar area but he didn't get close to anyone. I was really determined to meet him but there wasn't a chance to say anything to him he just put his head down and ran past everyone pretty much

Yeah, I saw him last fall (actually it was the week after him and Dave played in Vegas). He was on some serious hard-cord drugs. He almost fell off the stage at the beginning of the show. But whatever he was taking didn't seam to faze him much; it was a damn good show.

His voice used to be pitch propotioned to his size but he got into a car accident and it messed up his vocal chords.

Saw him on 2/16. Meeting him, Rew, and Fluffy, and hearing Samantabhadra acoustic were the highlights.

Yeah, that is what I have heard as well. I read something about how he had a really great singing voice/great range before the accident. Also that is why he is so great at guitar, because he couldn't sing for all of those years. He essentially decided to make the guitar sing/speak for him. And being able to vocus only on playing is one reason that he is so good. It makes me enjoy his acoustic instrumentals even more knowing this.

I am, as a matter of fact. We see a lot of new faces all the time over there.
