if you're talking about the 8-string, novax makes them (the same company that makes john mayer's fanned fret guitar). anyone can buy them, but they cost a pretty penny because Ralph Novak and his people custom make each guitar specifically to your specifications. Novax guitars.TrippnBill686 wrote:who makes that guitar? is it a custom or can the general non-famous public buy them?

you might be able to do it, but it's not good for the neck of your guitar. the vast difference (kinda sounds like vas deferens, haha) in tension can really fuck with the neck.DMB_fan_87 wrote:i dunno if anyone cares....but i tuned down the tuning on by big baby (must add what a great guitar it is) to daves b baritone tuning and i get no buzzing at all...its great....i can even get to A with minimal buzzing

If you want an inexpensive baritone you really should consider the dano's. I paid 200 bucks for my dano and the sound is amazing. It's hard to believe a cheap korean guitar like that can have such deep rich tone. I looked into getting a jerry jones baritone which I believe is what dave plays but it's basically a remake of the danelectro with higher quality materials. I could'nt justify spending 700 bucks on one though. Take a look at the reviews on harmony central and see what they say. As somebody that has one if you get a dano baritone it will probably do what you want it to and it will save you alot of money.

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."
