What do you think of the Crate acoustic amps?
I've checked the Crate AC15 to play at home, plugging my pc to it:
http://www.crateamps.com/html/product.cfm?pid=109#
It's cheap and seems nice...
I've seen one guy at the AcousticGuitarForum saying
Bob Weir, Warren Haynes, Jorma Kaukonen and Jerry Douglas all using crate acoustic amps. Maybe theres something to them.
and it caught my attention.

I think he has one slighly more powerful than the ca15...
I was wondering if someone has one and could give me his or her opinion...

i gotta believe that 12 watts in an acoustic amp is barely worth it. you probably wouldnt be able to make the amp loud enough to overcome the insturments acoustic sound without distortion or feedback.
i would say go big or go home.

12 Watts isnt quite THAT weak. It can still get many times louder than you could get by just playing an acoustic. But, dont expect great performance or very resonant bass from it.

I've tested the Crate for 5 minutes, but with some noise around me. It can really go loud, but I wasn't in conditions to check the quality of the sound.
I need to try it again...

I used to have a 30 watt acoustic Crate. It wasn't that bad. Wasn't that good either. I don't think I can reccomend them, but I certainly can't say "definitely do not buy this"
Oh, and so I don't have to post again. You're welcome for all the help.

I played with a few Crate acoustic combos, 'cause I use a Crate BT50 bass amp, and I've used the Crate GLX65 electric guitar amp, and they weren't bad, but I just didn't like the sound the acoustic combos they offer. I eventually went with the Marshall AS50R, 50 watt acoustic combo, and I love it.

Relatively cheap too, like, I wanna say 300 bucks or so? I also played with some Fender Acoustasonics, good shit there too. Good luck bro.

The recommendation alone might not mean a lot, but along with the others made me decide I'm not going for this amp.
Thanks!

I used to have a Crate CA60D acoustic amp. I loved it. I really regret getting rid of it, actually.

I've played on a couple different Crate acoustic amps and I think they sound really great. Built in effects, and some have 2 channels that run simultaneoulsy, which is great to be able to plug a Mic in and play. They would be great practice amps.
I'm actually thinking about getting a little larger one for playing live, because right now I plug directly into our PA system, and I'm gettin real sick of doing that.
Also for my electric I use a 4X12 Peavey cabinet with a Crate Amp (I don't know the model off the top of my head) and I love the sound I get out of it as well.
