Im having mic probs, can someone help me?

Im having mic probs, can someone help me?

Ok, my mic is plugged in and i can hear myself talking through the speakers but when i try to record, the recording software doesnt pic up my voice. I even tried windows sound recorder and its not picking up my voice, whats wrong?

If you can hear yourself it should be hooked in right. Try to go through recording help within the program.

Start - Programs - Accessories - Entertainment - Volume Control - Options - Properties - Recording. The source is probably wrong, click select on each while recording till it picks up sound.
