read this and tell me what your adam's apple should feel like if you're singing right. thanks

Tone quality improves when the correct musculature is engaged in
the singing process. Feel underneath your chin with your forefinger and
slide it inwards to the point where your neck meets the muscles under
your chin. Now swallow. Notice how your larynx (Adam's apple) raises up
and the muscles under your chin tighten up as you swallow? These
muscles that are engaged in the swallowing process are opposed to those
engaged in the singing process. The use of these muscles while singing
creates a myriad of problems that can take years to correct if left
unchecked. For good tone quality, you must learn to sing without the outer
muscles of the larynx. Doing so will set free your natural voice,
drastically improving tone quality and ease of use. Naturally, the Singing
Success Program contains techniques that will help you do this.

It feels so weird to block my adams apple while singing. I sound like a dying cat when I do that.

I have heard the same thing from a very good vocal coach. If you can feel your adams apple rise when you sing (put a finger on it and sing something) then you're not relaxed enough to allow singing at your full range. However, its a very hard habit to break. I still struggle with it.

That is a good suggestion. But how the heck do you sing a high note without bobbing your apple?

your apple will raise a little bit from resting position while singing which is fine, what you want to avoid is it shooting way up.

i doubt it. dave seems to sing with pretty good technique, judging from the power his voice has.

what will ruin his voice is all the unnecessary yelling in songs.

on the other hand, singers like Averil Lavigne (not even going to try and spell that) have nodules on their vocal chords from poor technique. isn't she like 17 yearsold?

ouch that can't be good. oh and I get this email newsletter thing (because i downloaded this breathing technique helper) and it was on that.

yea i sound like a dying creature when i hold it down too, but if i don't it just rises a little. thats what supposed to happen...right?

I have been attempting to successfully hold down the apple, nevertheless, in order to sing any high notes my apple shoots up high into my throat. There is no other way for me to sing a high note. Any help? Suggestions?

I tryed to brace my adams apple open with my finger while singing high notes, but the damn thing is still is like my prick around a hot girl when I sing high.

I just tryed to sing bridge over troubled water by simon and garfunkel like that. Not only did I piss odd my next door neighboor, but my adam's apple feels like it has been slit.
