If he chose one and then the other, just about anyone should tell. The DM3MD is a warmer, lower, softer tone than the D28.Lbacker wrote:mattinbeloit wrote:I can tell the difference etween his guitars... Also just want to point out that you can have the best acoustic guitar with a shitty pickup and a $200 junker guitar that has a better pickup will probably sound better....
You can tell the difference between dave using a DM3 or a D28? I'd like to be there for that.

Everyone here I'm assuming, has played many guitars and they know that each guitar is very unique from one another; even guitars that are the same model sometimes sound different. But saying that you can listen to a recording of Dave with the band or solo, and say well that one is this, and for this song it sounds like the dm3 and this one with the band is that cause it sounds like this. Not probable that you could do that.

you know a wiseman once said, we should not assume because it then makes an ass out of you and me.Lbacker wrote:Everyone here I'm assuming, has played many guitars and they know that each guitar is very unique from one another; even guitars that are the same model sometimes sound different. if you sit down and picked up a taylor 914ce and played for an hour then sat down with the DM3MD and not hear a difference then you shouldn't be playing the guitar at all. i hear a considerable difference between even an HD28 to a D28 Martin. why do you think they make different guitars?

most ppl. can tell the difference between different guitars when playing them. I think we are more at a split here talking about their sound plugged in, which I think we can all agree is alot harder to tell, but not impossible.jimithng23 wrote:you know a wiseman once said, we should not assume because it then makes an ass out of you and me.Lbacker wrote:Everyone here I'm assuming, has played many guitars and they know that each guitar is very unique from one another; even guitars that are the same model sometimes sound different. They sound different, I'm sure most of us could all tell the difference between songs played with the chet as well. Different guitars have different sounds. I will say it's tougher with the whole band, but solo is easy.

Holy shit man, You've repeated yourself 100 times and I've agreed with you from the beginning. I'm not arguing you about the sounds of the guitars. Of course different guitars sound different!!! But I still don't think YOU could listen to a cd or a compilation of songs over the years and say this is that guitar and this is that.jimithng23 wrote:you know a wiseman once said, we should not assume because it then makes an ass out of you and me.Lbacker wrote:Everyone here I'm assuming, has played many guitars and they know that each guitar is very unique from one another; even guitars that are the same model sometimes sound different.
