This kid at my school is selling an Alvarez 12 string (I believe AJ60SC-12)for 450 including case. I have some pictures of it,(just dont know how to post them). I was wondering what you all thought of this guitar?

how old and what kind of condition.

I think for the money that is one of the best looking guitars made. I dont know how the maple lam back and sides come out sounding. but knowing alvarez the sound has to be pretty damn good.

if the guitar is still in mint condition and the case is a hard travel case then this is a great deal. with a chipboard case its still a very good deal.

lightl;y used i would still be all over it. if it looks a little worn you should save $100 more and buy it new on ebay.

talk him down $30 and you have a hell of a deal.

All I know is i've got the RD20 S12, the cheapest 12 they make. . .and I couldn't be happier the only thing it sacrafices is just a little bit of playbility, but it sounds awesome. And I paid less than what your saying for it new w/ a case, around $325, So I would imagine that the 12'ver sounds awesome

the kid who is selling it said he would let it go for 400 with case, and maybe some little extras (extra strings, cables and what not)... Its a year and a half old and comes with an epiphone hard case. It was in drop C tuning when i played it, and sounded really nice.

What do you all think about investing in a 12 string?

And is this a good choice since they are going for like 589.00 new without a case?
