So i wanna buy a new acoustic guitar for a decent price and great quality and after a lot of shopping around and doing research ive come between 2 guitars..

the Taylor 110E - $699.99 at guitar center ON SALE!

- when i played this at guitar center...i was blown away by how clean and clear the tone was.

and the 2nd guitar is
the breedlove AD20/SR Plus - $899.99 at guitar center

can somebody help me pick the best guitar...ive been going back and forth all week

the breedlove is amazing and is just as good as the taylor...but theres something about that taylor it was soo clean and loud...the only thing thats pulling me away from it is that is doesnt have a pickup...i need more advice

OK, i played a pimped up taylor 110 on saturday night. The guy works for taylor and built it as his beater guitar. Honestly, I was suprised at how good it sounded and well it felt on my lap. It was a really nice guitar, but by no means for that price. that is outrageous.
You can get a lightly used one for around $450. (i saw one on craigslist the other day here for less than that).

if you are looking to spend 700 - 900 look at the larrivee lv-03, the alvarez A and P series guitars, takamine G's, there's a lot better guitars for the money than the two you chose.

I would definitely recommend a good tak, mine's lasted me 5 years and played great. Another guitar you might want to consider is a martin dx1, I played one the other night and was completely blown away, and they run about 500 dollars.

I met someone from these boards in SD not to long ago andhe had a DX1 and that is a very underrated guitar. It had all of the bass you would want, it played nice, felt good, and is more affordable than the taylor 110 it seems.

I wouldnt suggest the 110e. I have one myself and had to replace the ES-Blue in it because it was so terrible. I love the guitar itself, but the electronics arent worth it. I would suggest getting a 210 or a 310 and putting in electronics if you like that kind of guitar.

But Tak, Alvarez, and Larrivee are always great guitars too.

Ive never played the Breedlove but it looks much nicer than the 110. Though you never know until you play it.

i love my taylor 110, unfortunatley it has no electronics so i can't tell you what they are like, but in terms of sound, and feel i think its an awesome guitar. then again im just a beginner, and i dont know what level your playing is at.

do you play in shows or are you using it just to play and do some recording here and there?

If you are spending $900 on a guitar, a Larrivee 3 series is a no brainer. Ask anyone on these boards that has one, they will tell you it is the best guitar that amount of money can buy.

Kahn, am I going to get solid response from a Larivée if I strum very hard or play really aggresively? They've always seemed just the slightest bit brittle to me. I want a guitar that really feels like it's going to hold up.

Its definantley VERY solid. It can probably take anything you can dish out.

i want it for some recording and some live work...i havent played a larrivee they arent sold at guitar center..ill have to go to sam ash...the hunt continues...its hard
