I can understand wanting to play with musicians but do you really want to play pop music that you don't like just to perform with someone. It seems like you have talent with guitar and singing, I think you need to take your own path. Why waste any part of your life learning to play and performing something you don't like?

I dont see a problem with it. Even if he doesnt like the music he's playing, he'll still have a good time doing it and he'll also be able to learn new styles of music/playing that he wouldn't have if he didn't join the band. It's a great way to gain experience.

hmmm...

Well if he doesnt like it he probbably wont like playing it. But i think he needs some actual tips and not people sayin they dont listen to that crap, because it sounds like he cant get out of it.
