I've been really getting into these guys. I like their simplicity, yet very moving music.

Plus: Chicks dig it.

the vaginal fluid they are secreting is the same composition of urine minus the uric acid and phosphorous. i learned that in 11th grade anatomy. btw, sometimes it does have a FAINT smell of Pizzle.

The one thing I strongly dislike about playing coldplay songs is that so many of them require me to tune my high E string down. I have broken four high E-strings in the past six months while trying to tune the guitar back up to standard.

Let me guess, you can't hear a damn thing during yellow because they scream so loud.

no...you could hear a pin drop. that's what was so awful. i'm talking during a SING ALONG like the scientists. chris martin begged us to sing, like hardcore begged, and we were pitiful. i felt so bad.

Well, seems as Ticketmaster is fucking me, as per usual, It might be a little more difficult than I thought. Anybody know any good, reliable, but not overpricey ticket sources? I wanna go to the 2/4/06 show at the LA Forum.

Well, true to my word, I saw them at the forum last night. Great show, but not just because of Coldplay. The audience was into it pretty well; Chris had a pretty easy time getting people to sing along with The Scientist and Fix You, the two undisputed singalongs. He sang great, but seemed a little awkward and mechanical with his onstage gyrations. He screwed up the chorus of Till kingdom come and stopped the whole band, swearing. The band played well, but I felt the set was a tad short, barely an hour and a half. It seemed like the band was just bombing through the songs as quickly as possible.

The opener, Fiona Apple, came dangerously close to showing Coldplay up, IMO. She was stunning, with her bluesy contra-alto blasting out and filling the whole forum, and her jazzy band rocking out behind her. She hasn't lost a step since her period of obscurity a few years ago, and proved to be smoking hot and very sexy.

i don't like how they play along with pre-recorded orchestra/guitar/keyboard tracks. sucks the energy out of the performance for me. either hire some touring musicians or stick to instrumentation you can actually play live.

You mean like on Square one? One of the things most people don't notice is that Guy has keyboard next to him and uses it to play a lot of those effects. Since the majority of lighting is on Chris or Johnny, It usually goes unnoticed.

I hate short sets....I drove 2 hours to see The Killers in Columbus, and the show, including the opener, was ~1:45 long. The Killers were one of the best acts that I've ever seen live, including DMB and Phish, but it was just over so quickly!

The best show I've ever seen, on the other hand (Trans-Siberian Orchestra), was 2:30 long. People run marathons in that time. It was unreal.
