My new D-28....exciting!

Unread post by The Man of The Hour » Sat Oct 11, 2003 6:52 pm

So I finally decided to buy a high end guitar.

Went into guitar center with my checkbook ready for an HD-28v...until I stumbled upon this gift from God. Absolutely KILLED the HD-28v in sound...so I thought, eh, has to be the new strings. Well, both guitars had them put on a week ago. I was in awe of this guitar. I tried the other D-28s and realized the one I picked out was special....a very special one. Picked it for $1500, not one flaw!

what do you do for a pickup then??? soundhole. i couldn't imagine going to an open mic or something and not using something that beautiful. well, guess you could just mic it.

To answer fatjack's comment, there is actually a hole there, I think there is in all new martins under the "35" line... I don't know why, maybe they expect you to put one in? Either way, maybe down the road I'll put one in, but for playing now, I think I'll just mic it.

All martins do not have the endpin/strapin inserted in it. You have to do that yourself. There should have been one that came with it in the case.

you were wise, sir, going with the d-28 and not the hd-28. I played them both, new martin strings on them, and the d-28 is just so pure, and raw, it's just great. I am pissed you got one before me, though ;) .
Yes, I am in a box
