- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": As long as there's, you know, sex and drugs, I can do without the rock and roll.

OK it just started working, really weird....anyway
Great guitar playing, very rhythmic, you got chops! This is one of DMB's songs im not super familiar with so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Your singing shows potential, but it needs some refining. First off, there are times when you sound like you are trying to impersonate dave, the first line "I remember thinking" comes to mind. Dave does this thing where to hit some notes his bottom jaw sticks out farther than normal. Its very poor technique, but it works. Lately i havent seen him do it, his technique has definitely gotten better. However, just because it works for him doesn't mean its for everyone. Try to find your own voice.
Anyway, to improve your singing you need to work on making the words flow together more smoothly instead of singing kind of choppy. I would recommend breathing excercises at a starting point (you won't believe how much better they make you if you do them everyday for just a week!)
Also, it sounds like you are straining your voice a little. Does your throat hurt after you have been singing for a while? My guess is that it does. Learing some good techniques will allow you to keep your throat relaxed and avoid fatigue and damage.
Here is a thread i made with tips and some links to good websites...check it out and practice practice practice

Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
