LIOG question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

LIOG question

Unread post by paywad927 » Thu Jan 02, 2003 12:52 pm

i know that Dave strums individual notes in many of his songs. does he do that in LIOG or does he pick them? i just use my thumb to pick them but i was wondering what Dave does or what you guys do for that part of the song.

thanx,
derek

whoa! most definitely strumming. id try using your fingernails for this one as well, instead of your thumb. i play with my fingers, too (i can't use a pick) so i know where you're coming from. you definitely ought to strum this one though... strum that d chord and then use the same style to hit the individual notes, just muting the strings you dont need. it will sound much fuller and such. i hope that helps...
