VIDEO from my gig! watch! (it's full band!)

Unread post by dmbguitar718 » Sat Jan 28, 2006 12:12 am

This is a video from my first real gig. There was quite a turnout - I'd say a little more than 300 people there in our school auditorium. It was a lot of fun.

A little preface - Dan and I are known around our school for singing comical original songs. (We've covered things such as our religion teacher, penguins, and controversial issues at our school.) We couldn't do most of our original songs at this gig because they contain harsh language and touchy subject matter. In any case, we tried to make this show succes without those songs.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this show. Sure, it's riddled with mess ups and miscommunications (especially during City on Down) but we felt we put on a good show.

This is one big file of the whole set - it's 100 MB. Here are time marks for the songs that we played:

The Pat & Dan Band - 1.27.06

(Warehouse intro) 00:34
City on Down 1:14
Clocks -> 4:37
Fix You
For What's It's Worth 11:01
Mr. Penguin (Original) 14:08
We're Seniors^ (Original) 17:36
Pieces of Me* (The crowd wouldn't let us leave) 22:06

^This song just goes through several people in our senior class with a short description. We had to severely edit the chorus, as it is originally riddled with "fuck/fucking/etc" It would probably be more enjoyable if you knew us I guess.

*At this point, the crowd asked us to do another song. They wanted to hear the song about our religion teacher (which we absolutely could not do) or "Black Chick" which we would probably get jumped for. We went with Ashlee Simpson.

The piano player is a hack, and I know it's been said on UFCK but harmonies are your friend :-p
And clocks was so fast. damn.

I liked city on down though, I think that was the best.

Pat, you have tons of talent....but to be honest, that was'nt very good.
Not meaning you, your guitar work was good as always. Little fast at times but otherwise good.

You should get rid of Dan, or tell him he cant sing and give him another instrument. Drummer seemed pretty good though.
I would have liked it more if it was just The Pat Band.

I understand this was more a joke but take your music seriously dude, you're talented.
