alright, here goes nothing :)

For some reason, in order to download whole shows, you need that "ants downloader config" to download them.

*If you've done any of the following stuff below, just skip it, I'm pretending you've done none of it

First, you need to register with the site, which it looks like you did.
Secondly, install the Microsoft .NET framework, found here.
Lastly, download the ants config, found here.

Now, the ants configuror should look something like this, without the filled in fields:
Image
-For username and password, use your registered username/password you have with ants marching.
-For the download directory, choose the folder in which the music will be downloaded. The shows are huge by the way...we are talking gigabytes. The downloader will create a folder by year, and then by show.
-And for the last three things, it doesn't really matter, you can use my settings if you'd like.

When you finally get that configured, go to ants and click on a show date. It should show the tapers ".shnf" file. Right click and save that on your desktop or somewhere easily accessible. That file is like the keys you need to start your car. You always have the start that to start the download. After that, double-click it to start the download, and you are golden. If you need help on playing the files after they've downloaded, just ask :) Enjoy

It's not that tough once you get it. It's really convienient too, because there is no FTP server to deal with. Also Check you have the greatest signature. :-D

nevermind, not excited anymore.
took me like 2 and a half hours to download one concert.
Actually, I guess that wasn't that bad. DL at 144kb/sec.
OK, i'll shut up now.

144 isnt bad.. last year i had DSL in my apartment and normally got about 40 kbps- i would just turn it on and let it go all night

now the place i live in has direct LAN lines and when i conmect, i get crazy speeds like 600 kbps, which was unheard of last year... i downloaded the whole central park concert video in about 6 min, last night i got 1.7 Gb of music in about 20 min... great, right?

nope, theres a 250 mb/day download limit and whenever i go over my internet gets shut off for a day, even though it was advertised as being "unlimited"

time to give that bitch a call, i want my dave shows

was it a 2003 show? those go god awfully slow because those servers are always clogged, try downloading a 1990-2002 show, those are lightning fast

their 03 server is down. These were 02 shows.
How can you get it to DL all night. I thought you can only DL one song at a time :?

whoa whoa whoa, How are you going about downloading them? When you get to the download page, you can either

A) Click those buttons to log into the server, view the files, and save them as you please, or
B) Find a show date and find the "tapes" by those people, basically packaged shows...

If you've just been downloading single files over and over, try doing it the other way. It downloads the whole show automatically, one file after the other. That was the idea behind the "ants downloader" - an unattended download. Maybe I'm just confused :)

i'm in the same boat as checkii, but i do see where it says (for example) Eric Vandercar's tape (6/7/98 ) and i click on it, but it can't find the webpage, and then i try saving the link, and that doesn't work either - what do you have to do?

Well, it's not working for me either. I know ants is going through some troubles right now, as far as administration, but keep trying. Sometimes the servers are down.

That whole fiasco is crap...I dont know how the hell they can just decide to ban James from a site that EVERYONE associates with him. I never liked that board...they were only good for their downloads anyway. The mods there will ban you for intelligently and civily posting your disagreement with them.
