4 new recordings for y'all . . .

Unread post by Jenns4Ever9501 » Mon Jan 23, 2006 8:15 pm

Well, see what happens when I have a full day with nothing to do? 4 songs I recorded and completed today. I know 4 may seem like a lot, but apparently the download and listen time is worth it, or so I've been told by those who've listened to my stuff before.

Say Goodbye - DMB. Ehh, I wouldn't have chosen to record this song, but I love playing it, so there ya go. http://s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2QNA ... GX3EL4T2ON

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls. No real vocal range here, and I just kinda improvised the jam in the middle. My friend Jess LOVES this song, and loves my singing and playing, so there it is. http://s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=24BC ... NHHD78XOJT

Konstantine - Something Corporate. A piano song done on guitar. LOVE this song. A little long, and down a half step, but I'm very happy with the way this one came out. http://s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2SZZ ... 4CK3JHLOHZ

Outside - Staind. Love this song too. Didn't think I was going to be able to reach that 3rd verse, but I did, and I'm happy with the way it sounds. http://s61.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=34OW ... TNTWOUZ9CJ

Well, there we go. I should mention that my vocals weren't in the best shape today, but I'm extremely happy with the work I got done today anyways. Enjoy guys (and Whit).

Yeah, I love doing Say Goodbye, however, I'm probably gonna do a re-take of it, playing it my own way, not Dave's, 'cause I just really don't like the way it comes out when playing the verses Dave's way.

I only listened to say goodbye. The vocals are very good, especially the wail at the end. Very well done.

It's real easy. Capo on 2 (or 3, the original key is on 3). The verses are just G, Bm7, Em7, and C(add2), as follows (Eadgbe): 3x0033, x24232, 022033, and x32033. Chorus is G/B, C(add2), Dsus4, and G, as follows: x20033, x32033, xx0233, and 3x0033. That's it, play around with it, that's all I was playing. During the quieter middle section, I just mute the high e string when playing the chord, to quiet it down, so you don't have that constant ringing G through out all the chords. Enjoy.

Ya know, funny you should mention that. I had a suspicion it was in a weird tuning when listening to an acoustic version I have (those low notes, no WAY that's standard tuning), but never bothered to look it up, so I just play something in standard that sounds equivalent. I just looked at a tab, and I'd never play it in BDDDdd, WAY too loose for me.

just listened to Say Goodbye, sounds great! you're one of the few people I've ever heard who can match Dave's voice.
