I could have done it with all the high parts but I just thought it would be kinda rough sometimes. 8)

its understandable, Ab isn't the easiest key to sing in
Yeah, it's pretty high to sing, especially the "and the calm away by the storm is chasing" part. I did it an octave deeper so as not to sound bad.

How can I learn to do that kind of singing better?
not real sure if i can help but... you HAVE to use falsetto to hit those notes unless you are mariah carey or something
I'm Josh: sometimes known as Steve

the thumb of your left hand...to hold the quitar on the other side of the frets while picking/strumming the intro/verse part.

its sort of hard to explain, it's when your voice jumps up into a different register pretty much. ill give you dave examples.

41, second verse, i wanted to STAY, i wanted to PLAY, i wanted to KONW YOU...

hear how those capitalized words sound softer and higher...that's falsetto.

also

SDL is a great example, in the verses he goes in and out of falsetto. yet in the chorus he stays in his regular voice..

someone else can elaborate, i gotta go to school.
:D
btw, is there a word that describes the regular voice like falsetto discribes the high voice???

i was just curious. your playing was pretty flawless. :D , so just curious. I think when u sing high like that or wahtever u guys are talking about is called an upper register. u have to adjust your throat or voice to get those notes. hard to control them

yeah, play the guitar is much more easier than singing.
I think everyone can learn to play the guitar good with practising, but only some people will EVER be able to sing really good and having a good voice. I CAN sing but I don't consider me one of those people 8)

i can hit the satellite notes. i can't hit the "you" high note in the second verse of 41. well i can, but it's horrible. the highest i can get is about a step or a step and a half lower than the octive jump in the word "hard" in the song "Fuck Her Gently" by Ten D

Good job, Bo. I enjoyed listening to it. That song is so hard to sing.
