Because of Wynn-Dixie

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Because of Wynn-Dixie

Unread post by bam3211 » Thu Jan 12, 2006 5:52 pm

When Dave(Otis) in the movie is sitting down playing music for the animals is what I wanted to know if anyone had tabs on it. It is not Butterfly it's when he is playing and humming along to it.

Thanks
Chris

Code: Select all

Note that the high E string is tuned down to a D. That's the only way to get that harmonic like that.

D------------------------------
B--3-----3---------------------
G--2-----2--------0-2-----0h2--
D--0--2--0--0h2h4-----4-0------
A------------------------------
E------------------------------

Transition from D to Bm

D------------------------
B---------------------3--
G----------0h2-0---0--4--
D--0h2-2h4-------4----4--
A---------------------2--
E------------------------

D--------------------------------<7>----------------------
B--3--3--------------------------------0------------------
G--4--0-------0-2-------4--(0)*---------------------------
D--4--4-0h2h4-----4-(0)-0---2/4\2-------------------------
A--2--2--------------------------------2/4 Back-to-the-D--
E-----------------------3---------------------------------

At the :33 mark in the clip, Dave plays a little thing that's not in the video. (Due to the looping) But yeah, it's not that hard, just mess around with hammer ons and such around a D.

*Dave does something weird here. You can figure it out though.
