DMB - Steady As We Go
*walking slowly towards the boards, talking and mumbling to himself* I dunno what I was thinking, this sucks, I can't even believe that I DID this, I must've been crazy to think I could compare a guitar version to the beautiful piano version, I suck, maybe I'll just throw it at them and run . . .
*reaches boards, everyone stares*

P.S. - Yeah, I know it's my song for the cover contest, but I was gonna record it and post it regardless of the contest, so here it is. I have no idea what I was doing with this song. Enjoy.

Ya know, I can't say it enough. Thank you, all of you, I mean it. I'm INCREDIBLY uncomfortable with this song vocally, I was surprised I was able to hit that high note at the end, usually my range (without going falsetto) is the high G in #41, so I was happy with that, but the rest, ehh, I dunno. But hey, if you guys like it, that's all that matters.
And with regards to the guitar, I've been playing with this song since it came out, trying to come up with something that sounded halfway decent, and this is the best I could come up with. It's a piano song, what can I say?
Speaking of #41, I have a full-band recording of it that my brother and I did almost 3 years ago in an actual studio, in about 4 hours. Real spur of the moment thing, a buddy of mine was an engineer there, and they needed some musicians to record for this recording class they do there, and we agreed. My brother played drums, and I did 2 guitars, bass, sax, and vocals. If I hear enough interest, I'll post it so you guys can hear how I've changed vocally over the last few years.

Ehh, even though I'm a relatively new member of the boards, I've been reading them for a long time now, and I still can't figure out why #41 is almost shunned here in the recording forum.b_fost wrote:enough interest? are you shitting me? post that bitch up immediately!

No offense, but please stop going on about how much your songs suck. The fact is that they don't, and you have comment after comment verifying that. When people do that it makes it seem like they're trying to force compliments, which I'm not saying is true here, but it's just kind of weird. Your songs are actually very creative and very good, no reason to say otherwise.
Now, if that was in fact a disguised bump to put your post at the top, then I applaud your wit and creativity.

lol. While I am certainly clever enough, I in no way try to disguise my bumps, for I'll simply post "BUMP" in a thread.
As to compliments, okay, fine, I'll accept them. I've just always hated my recording voice, like, you have no idea, so it strikes me as incredibly bizarre that it's so well-accepted and highly praised here. I've always been more inclined to focus on my guitar playing than my vocals.
Alright, enough said, I'll stop saying that I suck at singing. You guys like it, great, I'm glad.
Great, grand, wonderful. NO YELLING ON THE BUS!!
