Re: Stay...in 6/8
i'm not great with times, is 3/4 slower than 6/8 or what? (all i know is like top number = beats per measure and bottom is like counts to one beat or something)Appsoldier wrote:anyone ever heard Stay in 3/4? i hated it, he played it at a d&t concert in SC. i have a copy of it and didn't like it at all. just wondering what you guys think of it
I can't believe that we would lie in our graves,
dreaming of things we might have been.

the top number tells you how many beats in a measure, the bottom number tells you what kind of beats they are. so in a 3/4 timing, there are 3 quarter notes in a measure (the 4 means quarter notes). in 6/8 timing, there are 6 eighth notes in a measure (the 8 means eighth notes).

i think apps already covered that partDuffman wrote:the top number tells you how many beats in a measure, the bottom number tells you what kind of beats they are. so in a 3/4 timing, there are 3 quarter notes in a measure (the 4 means quarter notes). in 6/8 timing, there are 6 eighth notes in a measure (the 8 means eighth notes).

11/8 rules all!
