Edit: CRAZY help...

Unread post by castellar » Thu Jan 05, 2006 10:56 pm

I have been working on this stretch for a while but i cant switch chords without having to stop. is there anything i can do, besides keep playing and come back to it another time, that will make this a little easier.

which stretch? the E chord part? if so, the answer is keep trying, and one day your hand will just say "alright, i've fucked with him long enough, i give in"

yeah, you can actually hear it say that. it's crazy.

you're having trouble with the chords? well...its about as basic as it gets. just keep playing it. knowing a song like that is something you'll learn to do without a second's thought.

I agree. Not that hard to sing along with either, everything is pretty rhythmic in regards to the relation between the chords and the lyrics.

like everyone has said. just keep playing it. one day your hand will decide, you know what, this dosen't feel so bad. until then, just keep practicing.
hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you

There really is no way to magiacally make your hand grow or force it to execute the stretch correctly. Try googling hand stretches or something if you want. Either way you're gonna have to play to make it work, no miracle cure.

It's nowhere near a basic chord? Geez. If it was, why do so many people have problems with it?

The original post was about spoon. Which is about as basically as easy as it gets. It was changed to crazy after a bunch of posts were made.

An old trick that matty boom suggested was to capo your guitar at like the fifth fret and do the stretch, play it like that for a while then move back to the 4th fret, so on and so forth, hopefully you can get it.
