So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I live in one of those radio markets where I Did It and The Space Between are the only two DMB songs ever played , and even those aren't played much......so I really am not a fan of the album version of IDI. However, on the Lost Acoustics compilation, I Did It is one of my favorite songs to listen to. Honestly, to me, that version sounds like it could be from any pre-Everyday DMB album. And the guitar work is great. If anyone can actually go listen to that particular version of the song and then come back and tell me it's not good, then that's fine, but don't just automatically hate any and all versions because it's from Everyday!

PS- What You Are on Lost Acoustics is also kick ass....I'm not a full-band WYA fan but with Tim it's another favorite.

I know that I am ignorant, but what are the "lost acoustics" and how do I get ahold of them?

Thanks

the lsot acoustics is another fan made compilation cd. Like Rutabega studios demos that is mistaken for being one long studio demo recording. Same with Lost Souls, and any Best Of's or Box Sets.

Also, fatjack, what's wrong with new songs? Do you just hate everything after the LWS? If so, why are you on here about the band which is normaly talking about them in the present?

Also, I Did It is a good goofy song. Do you hate What Would You Say? Do you hate So Much To Say? Do you hate Tripping Billies? Do you hate the Song That Jane Likes? Jimi Thing? Those are all pretty much upbeat goofy light hearted songs. Also, some of them are their best, I think!

dave has improved over the years, i think. everyday was unfortunate, but it was necessary. dave learned a lot from working with glen ballard...a lot about music, about himself, and his fans. busted stuff could not have happened without everyday, and some devil certainly wouldn't have.

look at the structures of some of his newer songs...stay or leave, too high, grey blue eyes, baby... he is becoming a lot more mature and unconventional in the way he puts songs together, pulling out much less obvious melodies from his chord progressions. everyday is my least favorite album by far, but honestly it was a lot better than pretty much anything that was around in 2001. and if he hadn't played that baritone guitar, he wouldn't have written Some Devil, and arguably stay or leave and YNK as well, since raised B is just baritone up an octave, it stands to reason that he came up with it while messing with that jerry jones.

think about it though, 2001 sucked, but the '02 and '03 tours were two of the best in years....i'd say best since 1995, except the summer of 2000 was also pretty good...
