Dave/DMB cover contest.

Unread post by brian_ok » Sat Dec 31, 2005 12:18 pm

Well, in some thread we were talking about having an original contest, but I just want to go ahead and do this. Most of us are still on break, so...

Please email/pm your song by Sunday, January 15th if you want to be in on this.

brianfoster@ou.edu, or pm me a YSI. (YSI preferred...thanks.)

Just reply to this thread, with what song you want to do, and I'll edit this post to have a running list. If nobody wants to do this, then I will KMIAF.

On the 15th or 16th, I'll host the songs, give you guys the links, and put a poll up for a week or two. Hopefully people sign up and send me songs.

Who's doing this.

1. b_fost...So Much To Say
2. tictacs...Butterfly
3. kahn...Cigarette Lit
4. smedley...Warehouse
5. djvt81...One Sweet World
6. dmbguitar718...????
7. dheibs...Tripping Billies
8. njpearce22...So Damn Lucky
9. praisedave...Grey Street
10. singlike_dave...Bartender>DDTW (not sure about this...)
11. greedylilpig...Grace is Gone
12. appfro...Raven
13. dmbguitar...Rhyme and Reason
14. mdel21....Say Goodbye

16. cbalvarez...Warehouse
17. jenns4ever9501...Steady As We Go
18. sockcymbal...The Stone *or* PNP->Rapunzel
19. gravesRR7....???

Update 1/5...You can now hear the submitted songs!

Since there are 19 entrants, we will hopefully get at least 10 songs submitted...that will take a while to listen to, so go ahead and get a head start! I've started uploading the (completed, final versions of the) songs that I've recieved here: http://dmbtabs.dmusic.com.

(After the deadline, there will be a poll and all that, but just for now, you can start listening to the songs that have been submitted...so that we all don't have 10+ songs to listen to on the 15th/16th.)

If the people who have submitted songs don't like this, let me know and I'll remove the link.http://www.angelfire.com/indie/mangold--praisedave's grey street.

How does the judging work? Creativity, technicality of chosen song..etc.etc...what are the criteria?

and I'm doing butterfly, via bass guitar. and whilst dry humping it and playing for myself and only myself

I'm already trying to learn this garge band stuff...so mark me down for So Damn Lucky. It'll actually give me a chance to work with my new program a little.
