Hello, and Welcome to 1998
last stop might be my least favorite song on that album.
It just doesnt do that much for me. and I like the album version more than live. I guess I suck.
But yes, listen to that album straight through a good 30 times. you cant get sick of it.
And I cant see how glen balard ruined the band. Wasnt most of everyday written in studio?
There were some great songs that came out of that album. A couple Phenominal songs.
Granted leroi and boyd weren't featured much, but for how little of songs they play off that album live, i dont see it beign a bad thing.

If I remember correctly, Step Into the Light's section on Everday said that Dave went out early to wherever Glen Ballard was, and they wrote the 12 (11?) songs in 11 days together, then the band came out.czech wrote:last stop might be my least favorite song on that album.

FTT, WTWE, So Right, Everyday, WYA, TSB, etc... I mean, FTT is oen of my favorite songs, and the rest of those are great songs, so to say ballard killed the band is a huge misconception, Baston though, I think D&T 10-28-05 and the 2004 tour proved he murdered some great songs.b_fost wrote:If I remember correctly, Step Into the Light's section on Everday said that Dave went out early to wherever Glen Ballard was, and they wrote the 12 (11?) songs in 11 days together, then the band came out.czech wrote:last stop might be my least favorite song on that album.

Just to clarify, I don't think that Ballard, or Everyday, killed the band at all. (read my earlier post). While I feel that Everyday was a step in the direction that I don't want to see the band go in, There are some HUGE gems on that CD...especially So Right, my 2nd favorite studio track by DMB, ever.czech wrote:

I'd agree about Baston...he needs to stick to 50 Cent, and DMB needs to stick to (go back to) Lillywhite.

There is only a few of us who like Everyday [album]. I thought it was a GOOD attempt at breaking away from their normal style. However, it wasn't GOOD ENOUGH.czech wrote:FTT, WTWE, So Right, Everyday, WYA, TSB, etc... 98 was a good year but I liked the summer of 2000 better for some reason
'00- best year just DMB.
2003 was pretty damn good too, and would have been better if it wasn't for boyd's tuning problems.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
