Long Black Veil

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I got a DVD from the library.....Listener Supported. I totally enjoyed it. Can someone give me the low down on that cover song Long Black Veil. It is my new favorite song for today!!!!!!!! Who else has recorded it? Any info would be great.

it was written by two people (can't remember their names) and johnny cash recorded it first. i listened to the cash version and personally i like the dave version better. but that's probably because i heard the dave version first. if you play and wanna learn to play it, ill get you the tab from this site, it's easy. if you just like the song, then that's probably one of the best versions. dave doesn't change it up much when he plays it live. hope that helps a little

It's a killer song to play.. I always forget the chorus though :(

Willie Nelson also recorded it. He may have also written it. (Not sure because I think it was written a long time ago)

he didn't write it. ill go find the names of the people that wrote it, it was two people. johnny cash was the first to record it. i didn't even know willie recorded it

it was written by danny dill. the other person that wrote it is questionable. one site says Marijohn Wilkin and another site says someone else. but either way, there ya go.

but i did see that willie did a cover

It was written by both of them; Dill wrote the lyrics and Wilkin wrote the original music.
