Unread post by subotai » Tue Sep 30, 2003 11:46 pm

How come Dave doesnt just put out a book of the crap hes written? Im tried of spending a huge amount of time making sure the tabs I find are right as I am sure a lot of you guys are. Cant Dave take a day and write the stuff out then sell it and make some cash?

ill be if you showed dave a tab of one of his songs and didn't tell him that it was his song, it would take him forever to realize it. most people don't tab their own stuff.

on another thought, i think it would rock for him to make an instructional video like carter did and sit right in front of the camera where everyone can see his guitar and play every one of his songs. wouldn't take more than a week. could make serious money. timmy should do one too for his parts in dave songs too.

Well since my DVD idea is taking forever becuase lawyers suck....I was considering proposing that EXACT idea to DMB Management. I would direct it and make sure it gets everything that all guitar players need....oh well, they prob wouldn't listen to me anything...FUCK THEM

It really wouldn't seem like dave's style to do a project like that. :?

Well, timmy has said he doesn't know how to do tabs. I e-mailed fluffy about possibly timmy tabbing stuff. Fluffy has already talked to timmy about it, and he doesn't know how to do tabs, and I guess doesn't have the passion to either. Oh well.

yea i agree. dave would probalby never do that. that's why i was excited about kanter's dvd. i really think we should petition. but i don't know if an online petition would work and logistics for sending a piece of paper would be mindnumbing and never work.

Kanter what do you think, i think if they hear that people want this they'll think more about it. we really need to ge tthe word to them. maybe an e-mail address or an address we can send a letter to. the people of the board are here to help in anyway we can.

they dont know how to do tabs? it took me all of 3 seconds to figure it out. im sure that they could do it. maybe they just dont want to.

and another thing, i always wondered how dave could remember all of his songs. i always thought he had all his stuff tabbed. but as apps said most people dont tab their own stuff, so i guess thats out the window. after about a month or so of not playing a song i forget how it goes. so how does he remember all of his songs? has he just played them enough times to remember them for all eternity?

Hey Jared - Please don't take this the wrong way; and I'm probably way off here, but maybe there's a chance that DMB management has poked around these boards and seen posts like this one and thought to themselves, "this guy's not professional", etc. etc. After all, dude, you're the Admin of these boards and you represent them and your site. Don't get me wrong; you've done a great job here, but coming from an administrator of a 'commercial' Web site myself, I speak from experience. I try to take the high road in everything I do related to my Web site, especially on my message board. After all they are a public forum. Just a thought...

its pretty hard for someone to forget a song they write, its usually personal and something they would never forget even if they didn't play it that often
