ummmm, If you look up just a little bit, you will see they they give reasons. Most notably, his lack of scatting skills.
Unless I'm missing someone other than Kevin's post, his only complaint was that M. Doughty's dance was similar to Dave's (although Mike's been doing it longer) and that the only reason he chose to say anything about him was that Doughty took Dave's scat in one song (I didn't see any reference to a lack of scatting skills).

(My post was only referring to Kevin's post.)
The general consensus on Mike D. so far is that his scatting has been absolute shit. Many people have been posting that....As far as the Dave dance, it can't be imitated, but can't knock Mike for trying.
I've only heard M. scat with DMB twice, one from recently, and one from the early 90's. They both were pretty bad, and Mike even talked about how horrendous the first one was on his blog. I have no idea why his scats with DMB suck, his scats at his shows are great.

let me repeat...bitter bitter bitter for Mike D. taking the wheel on Dave's scat solo. I don't care who's been in the music business longer, who's been copying who, but I do know that if I go see a band I'd really like the opener not to sound even remotly similiar to the main act, it just ruins it for me. I'd much rather hear Soulive or Jurassic 5, or whomever, over Mike D., just because it will give me something to counterbalance DMB.

Boston was a pretty good show IMO, out of 16 i've been too. ODH was a major dissapointment, especially after Nancies.

WAYG was blah too. other than that, the show was romp'n.

when carter threw his second stick out there, i jumped, grabbed it, and then some bitch stole it outta my hand. i had just an okay grip on it, and was laying out flat across the chairs so it wasn't too hard to steal it.

i actually got past security (dunno how) and drunkenly walked inbetween the tour busses, hoping they'd come out. after 10 mins they didnt and i left. but i would have been one lucky MOFO if they'd have come out. i was the only one at the busses.

dunno if it's been written already, but Dave came out for ants with a santa hat and big dorky sunglasses (the massive kind, like 2 feet across)

That line up is pretty sick. All it's missing is Bartender.

I think I've stopped drinking in time to catch two opening acts. But I really don't see how Soul Coughing is like DMB at all.

Not an aweful show. Seek Up and Nancies were incredible. They just came out lacking any sort of energy but picked up slowly. The closer was fine because I wanted to see both of those songs. It's sad how much people HATE the new songs. Half the crowd sat through most of them. I liked hearing them live, fun new stuff. Meh, hopefully albuquerque will be better tonight! I late for my plane, I'll let ya'll know how it went. I have pics too (not very good ones though).
i sat threw some. there was like a girl infront of us trying to act like a dmb know it all, but like only knew the new songs, and like crash. when rhyme and reason came on it took her like 2 minutes to say what it was, it was actually really annoying with her like stoned dancing and her talking threw half the show.
