Bartender Best Ever?

Unread post by tbillie41 » Fri Dec 16, 2005 5:27 pm

I know the LWS have been something of a hot topic lately, and personally I've been listening to the recordings quite a bit.

I had bartender on while I was at the gym today, and I think that the LWS version of Bartender is the greatest work the band has ever recorded. The song is beautiful, overflowing with emotion (from the whole band), I love it musically and lyrically.

Anyway, discuss... if you want to.

Dreaming Tree or the Stone for me probably, off the top of my head at least. I like Bartender a lot, but not that much.

I think that whole run of songs from The Stone to Spoon is the best work this band has ever recorded.

I do love Bartender from the LWS though so I got to add it on to what I said previously. It may be Lerois finest moment in this band, he is absolutely flawless and explosive on that track.

Bartender is my favorite live song to hear. It's the only song that brings tears to my eyes.

When he fucking screams "BAR...tender Please" that one time towards the end, it sends chills down my spine.

That's weird because I posted on another site that the studio album doesn't do it justice. It is one of the best songs live especially when he starts wailing at the end.

I think the best bartenders were from the D&F tour. Dark, brooding, edgy, full of cool eastern vibes thanks to Timmy's slide playing (tastefully allocated, for a change), They put chills down my spine every time I hear dave eerily crying out during the intro, like a lost soul from another world.

I love Bartender so much. So deep and compelling yet so, so simple. Amazing. And yea, I have cried during it, wow...
