blah blah. No offense dude but if they closed every tour with the Last Stop, it would have really lost it's edge by now. Catch my drift. Trust me I'm not pleased with the rotation of songs this tour, or last tour for that matter, but you gotta stick with it. I saw them in Manch, and I only saw three new songs, and it was only my third time seeing them. But DMB puts on a fucking solid show, and nobody can argue with that. Sometimes you see something cool, sometimes you don't. Sometimes they play #34 for the first time in 11 years at a show you were suppose to go to. And sometimes they don't. SO don't worry so much about it.briguy945 wrote:Okay what the fuck DMB. I've defended them throughout this tour for the most part but come on. They should have pulled out something crazy on their last show. I'm sure the show was very entertaining but pay some attention to the hardcore fans. If next summer is like this I am only going to Saratoga. I see no point in multiple shows. End rant.

Did I say Last Stop? Don't remember that. I mean come on we're all fans here and we would all like to go to any show. I'm just expressing my dipleasure with the repetition. For me at least, part of the excitement of a DMB show is not knowing what is next. I thought maybe in their last show (since they had a couple days off) they might get together and decide to throw one different song in there. I wasn't at the show or anything so I'm not actually upset, just discouraged for the upcoming summer tour if the trend continues.DreaminBassMunky wrote:blah blah. The Last Stop was a metaphor. I understand your complaint, we all have it. But they wrote new songs, they're going to play new songs. That's why we don't have shows like they were in 1998, where there were Two Steps, Dreaming Tree's, and Jimi Things on a nightly basis. Hell I bet people thought that was boring after a while.

- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Do you use this word? Alcoves?
exactly - they just released an album in the past year - what do you expect the tours to be? its still a great experience to go to a DMB show even if the set isn't what you wanted - they're still great live no matter whatDreaminBassMunky wrote:The Last Stop was a metaphor. I understand where you're coming from. I didn't complain this summer when all the sets were very similar, because they were promoting their new album. I actually defended their position. I like almost all of the stand up songs live a lot. If they played the same rare songs every show I would have a problem with that too.DreaminBassMunky wrote:The Last Stop was a metaphor. In the past when DMB put out new albums they mixed up the set lists a lot more (you can't argue against that). My gripe is that during the summer I enjoy going to multiple shows. But if there is less variety that hinders my enjoyment. Do I still have fun? Of course I still have fun. Shows are about getting drunk with your friends, hearing good music, and hitting on random girls. But I would have much more fun if I didn't know I would hear the same grouping of song with the same grouping of filler songs they have been using. I am confident the band will be rejuvinated after their break from touring and prove me wrong.

But my whole point was that mixed up setlists are much less common than people really think. Dave Matthews Band is by no means pumping out albums, but every new album has an album tour (or two) and even in between I'm reluctant to say that the variety of songs kept in rotation is impressive. You should stop over to dmbalmanac. They have a statistic that shows how many different songs were played per tour. Many times, it's pretty dismal, from a band with now 7 studio albums, a handful of covers, and plenty of unreleased material. This decline in setlist variety is not a new development, and I think it just stems from people being unhappy about Stand Up. I am willing to bet the same thing happened when Everyday came out, and the post-Everyday release tours. Even with the number of Stand Up tunes per show on the decline, people still complain about the lack of setlist variety. Would we complain if we heard Seek Up, Nancies, Jimi Thing, Crush, etc etc every night? Let's try being honest, rather than just trying to smite me

I'm not sure I understand the position you're taking besides one opposite me. Are you saying that you like the repetition, or that the band should repeat setlists? I understand they're busy, but I'm voicing my opinion. All I'm saying is that I like the shows no matter what, but I would like less repetition for my enjoyment of the shows. I did express it with frustration but that's all it boils down to. I am really not sure what, if anything you're trying to convince me. If you enjoy DMB shows but would like more creative setlists we're on the same side man.DreaminBassMunky wrote:But my whole point was that mixed up setlists are much less common than people really think. I had a buddy who went tonight and called me after it was done saying the set was dissapointing. It looked pretty good from where I was sitting, but that was at my computer with an accoustic guitar in my lap.i like tictacs wrote:this show started out amazing, then it hit old dirt hill, and was the defintion of blue balls
