   Eat more acid, dudes.
I am a HUGE Hendrix fan. The dude pretty much single-handedly revolutionized the instrument

Santana is definitely over-rated, so I gotta go with the majority here.

Lindsey Buckingham on the other hand is so under-rated it's not even funny. He should definitely be on the list of the so-called guitar gods.
David Gilmore can get so much from a guitar without artificial effects it should make Timmy blush. How he can be over-rated I'll never know. He's rarely, if ever, metioned with the greats.

I think David Gilmour is overrated too.
i can honestly say i've never heard anyone say that before - he's awesome, really passionate solos
for real, i dont see how you can consider Gilmour overrated when most average rock listeners dont even know who he is

i cant fucking stand Jack White. Music critics basically stroke him off every time they talk about him, but i think he's average at best. Sure, maybe he can write some catchy tunes, but making a shitload of noise with an electric guitar isn't anything new
define "average rock listeners"... i'm pretty sure that no one who is an actual rock listener doesn't know who david gilmour is.

consider the band he plays with: Pink Floyd. they are a pretty well known classic rock group, even amongst people who are necessarily enthusiasts.

chances are, if you were to ask some random person on the street, they will have heard of Pink Floyd, but they may not be able to tell you the names of the members. other groups, such as Led Zeppelin, are similar in this respect, but chances are, that if you were to ask the same random person to name a member of that group, they would say either Robert Plant or Jimmy Page.

at least this was the way it was for me. i knew a lot of Pink Floyd music, but it wasn't until i became more interested in their music that i learned that the guitarists name was David Gilmour

I don't respect Hendrix. Especially after hearing his live at berkeley cd. Sure, some of his songs are good, and he's got skills, but he got too crazy sometimes, just way too out there with the odd noises and fuzz. Same reason I can't listen to Whole Lotta Love that often, even though I love that solo after the odd noises, the noises just detract so much.

OK, so we have EVH, Clapton, Hendrix, Gilmour, and Santana out of the way. Who the hell do you guys like, or I'm sorry, 'get into'? Tim and Trey?
Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.

I like Hendrix, Clapton, Page, Beck, Townsend, Eddie VH.

Another that I would add on my list along with BB King would be Stevie Ray Vaughn. Once again, I respect his talent and ability but I just don't dig his style or sound.

There's another good one, he's fast but his solos simply lack substance. Monte Montgomery, SRV, Gilmoure, Paige, Trey, Michael Hedges, and Justin King are probably my favs.
