Not all Dave fans dug it, but he stepped up his songwriting with hip-hop producer Mark Batson (Eminem, 50 Cent) and moved easily from Southern funk to Nirvana-esque hard-rock. Matthews was open to new ideas, and this had plenty of them.
Yeah, Hunger For the Great Light and Smells Like Teen Spirit really sound similar

dude that was a badass hello again. I remember while carter was playing to solo dave went out in front and like threw his fist in the air and got everyone all pumped up. it was awesome

the scat thing butch now does on jimi thing is awesome. he scats to the melody he plays on piano. its pretty awesome to me and very musical

agreed - wooten does that alot, thats gotta be pretty difficult, i don't care how good you are, think of the coordination you know?
