I get alot out of Dave solo (Some Devil, I mean)
Also alot out of DMB.

It's true. I mentioned it in some other thread. I just hate Tim's style. Nearly everything about it, in fact. Alot of people I know seem to be like "Dude, you're a guitarist, so you should like Timmy. 'Stream', dude, 'Stream'."
If Stream, or his other stuff for that matter, were good songs, or if he provided anything constructive to DMB songs, I'd like Tim

That is a very difficult opinion to take in. Tim Reynolds is probably one of the best guitarist playing these days.

maybe so but some people dont like his style. i like it at times in dmb music (like on red rocks, he has some good stuff, and some bad stuff). sometimes to me it just seems he overplays in my book...he has too much to say and tries to get it all out quickly

I think he's totally overrated. He certainly wouldn't be famous if he never had played with Dave.
His technique is so choppy. His compositions are not very good (steer me to one you guys think is his best, I'll give it another listen). His note choice is often boring. His phrases in general aren't very great. I don't like his tone.
His shredding does nothing for me, and I can enjoy a good shred if it's done right

The wayfarer and los alamos is burning are two of his most beautiful acoustic songs. Definitely worth reconsidering.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I just listened to the wayfarer. I still wasn't too impressed. It just seemed bland, and I didn't really like his vibrato at one part (I mention that just to re-enforce that I do not like his technique).

so i think the version of crash from storytellers is my favorite version of that song. tim's part is absolutely amazing. i love it.
hosting the oscars is like winning the heisman trophy. no matter how you do in the ballgame, or whatever, they can't take it away from you. and even if you kill your wife and an ex-waiter, they still have a hard time taking it away from you
