ELIXIR POLYWEBS

Hardly any squeak, and easy as hell to do slides on. They're extra coated so they last longer...

You can also try nanowebs if polyweb is too slick for you..Nanowebs have less coating, therefore they don't last as long.

Ha.. I play my strings until the sound so horrible I'm just forced to change them

I usually wash my hands before I play, that helps

Get flat wire strings. They slide so smoothly, and you don't get the squeaking sound either. Also, that doesn't fade. Gibson makes nice flat wire strings. Check them out.

It's pretty much this. take a basic low E string

Regular - | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
Flat Wire - |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

They are wound so much tighter, to get that smooth feel and no squaking. Basicly it just gets rid of most of the friction.

I used Flat Wires on my electric. I havn't seen them for acoustic, but browse through here http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/sid ... 398/c=4499 . If you still don't find any, e-mail the people at gibson.com or this great local store that is very helpful davesguitar.com (dave is a really good guy).

blah blah blah everyone's an exception. my point was that it's harder and takes practice, not that its impossible.
