Stay is a biaaatch

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

haha i personally didnt say i am a master at it by any means, but i can play it for minutes without my wrists hurting. im not saying youre wrong i just think something has to be off, cuz it doesnt hurt my wrist or anyone elses....have you had a wrist injury?
No wrist injury that im aware of [insert masturbation joke].

I just want to hear somebody emulate Stay perfectly for 4 minutes staright.
thats a lot to ask...pat?
Apparently, Sciaristonjeejeheu [sp] can play it no problem. I need proof.
jason, i dont care if u dont believe i can play it. i didnt say "oh i can play it, u suck".
u were looking for help, i tried to help ya out. i dont see any need to be a bitch now.
i understand it's frustrating when u cant play a song the way u want (it happens often to me), but u should know that practice is the key, since u have been playing guitar for 10 years...

Im not being a bitch. I just want to hear someone play it like Dave. You said you could do it with ease, I would like to hear it. That's it.

With the posting of the song, does the person have to be singing, and if that was the case, I wish I had good recording stuff, cause I would do it. I play this song all the time, and I love it, so I would be willing if I didn't have to sing, and/or if I had recording material.

I would love to concede this thread, but I just don't have the materials ;-)

Jason,

What do you think of the 3/4 version on 2-19-99? I love it and think it is probably the best version. I also have problems with this song getting it to sound just right. I have my moments but I can't do it consistently for awhile. Warehouse, Captain, Billies were easier for me than this song.

honestly i dont think its too bad, the only problem ive had with it is muting. then i rested my finger underneath the A string. the rhythm wasnt too tricky. thanks for the video that helped a ton. my roommate is sleeping but i could post an audio tomorrow, i might be playing it different, but i played along with the video and it seemed spot on. the only rhythm part i struggled with was at the very beginning, but i got that pretty quickly. fun song to play either way.

I had a full version that I sent to tictacs to put some bass on. It's not spot on for the full 4 minutes, but it's pretty close, if only my recording equipment didn't suck.

I agree. That's the basis of this post. I always underestimated the song until I started playing the 10.24.02 way. Yes, MIke I have heard the Bucknell version of this song. Thats was one night after I saw him at Bloomsburg.

My biggest problem is the middle couple notes were you you do a three fret stretch and then to the ones next to each other.
