Recording Problem

Unread post by jizzo » Sat Sep 27, 2003 9:18 am

Whenever i try to record my sound is always really crunchy and sounds like it is in overdrive. I use cool edit pro and run my guitar through my fender amp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

its just the fact that you are redcording directly onto your sound card, you'll never get a good sound out of it, sorry :(

If you're using the LINEOUT on your fender amp, then you should try the LINE IN on your sound card. THe microphone input has a very high gain since microphones are unpowered. Since the line out from the amp is powered, it is clipping on the mic input.

That's not entirely true... my B-Band pickup into my mic input on my SB gives a great, clean signal. But for the most part, this is generally true.
