Totally bummed

Unread post by dmb_josh » Sat Nov 19, 2005 10:43 pm

I got a call from a friend a little while ago who said that Dave Matthews was at the Downtown Mall here in Charlottesville. So I bundled up as best I could, found a blue sharpie, and raced downtown hoping to finally meet the guy. I was so excited, I had brought a small firedancer painting I was hoping he could sign. By the time I could find parking and get to the place he was he had already left. I missed him by a matter of minutes! He was with his sister, and people said that once he was recognized by the masses they jetted.

Very disappointing!

I would to if I was him.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

Was trying to figure out a way to say that without coming off like a douche. I think you took care of it.

That is extremely rude to do that in his home town. Imagine getting followed and screamed at on tour in every town you go, and then coming home and you cant even go to the mall without people noticing.

I bet the millions of dollars he makes every year helps him cope with it.

Yeah dude what do you expect I mean come on. We give the guy millions and millions of dollars we've earned the right to scream his name, not only at concerts. :D Granted, if I saw him at a mall i'd probly be too much in shock to even remember his name.

He was at an outdoor pedestrian mall on a Saturday night. I never planned on screaming his name, or bombarding him, or making any sort of scene. I was just hoping to see the guy and tell him how much I enjoy his music. Sorry if that makes me 'extremely rude'.

ya i would feal really bad chasing the guy down, he gets enough crap. I saw Joe Satriani in Dillards once, i just walked over to him and very quickly and politly said his music really rocked and to keep it up, shook his hand and walked away and i still felt bad for some reason.

I am not saying complementing his music is rude, but screaming his name and stalking him is. And apparently since he had to leave, people were doing that.

One of the girls from P. Diddy's making the band lives right by my hometown. My brother sold her a movie ticket before when he worked at the theater.

Too bad they sucked.
