My posts are being rude!!

when i just posted in the "Dave Guitar section" under the questionable topic of "would you play with Dave in a bath tub" and my posts are showing up prior to the actual thread originator's post (time calibrations may be to blame) check it out and let me know....i won't post until it is resolved so i don't ruin anyone's threads

I'm seeing this too. My posts are showing up as being on the 24th (today is the 25th) and they're jumping ahead of others in the thread.

at least we're on the same page....i'll feel bad if i post on anyone else's thread for fear that i might ruin it....i'll just wait until they can identify the discrepancy...weird though! :P

Probably just the wrong time on jkanter's server. phpBB must somehow order posts within a thread based on that post's timestamp.

A perhaps weirder anomoly is that some peoples 'onine' icon is green indicating they're online even though they're not here:

Something whacky is happening...

^ That's my previous explanation of what is going on. To make it succint, the hosting company has a really bad problem of keeping time on their servers. The time drifts an insane amount. So, a couple weeks ago, they "fixed" the time, but actually did it wrong, I think they put it 12 hours ahead on the UTC codes than it was supposed to be. Today/yesterday (whenever it was), they fixed it correctly, and the times are now correct (but 12 hours before what they were the moment before they changed the time). Thus, the posts that came in during that 12 hour period were actually going in front of the ones posted earlier (because the ones posted earlier looked like they had been posted after).

That wasn't very succint was it. Oh well. Hope that made sense, and hopefully the hosting company can actually keep the clocks accurate this time around, since there's a ridiculous amount of free GNU programs to help Linux machines align themselves with the UTC.

Ahem... I just realized that they just fucked it up more. It's saying today is Wednesday. Last time I checked, Friends, Will & Grace, and CSI are on Thursday.

I only listed the shows I watch. But TiVo rocks this world. It is the second-best non-computer invention ever. First is the ipod.
